About the Role
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. What You'll Do
- →You will control and extinguish a fire during firefighting operations.
- →You will inspect equipment (e.g., fire extinguisher, sprinkler systems, exits) to verify they are fully operational and meet regulatory requirements.
- →You will decontaminate hazardous material response equipment and supplies (e.g., protective clothing, respiratory devices, chemical mitigation agents) for preventative maintenance.
- →You will use personal protective equipment to comply with safety and health directives (e.g., OSHA).
Requirements
- ✓In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-3: Completed firefighter training that was obtained as part of a high school curriculum. or completed one year of related education or firefighter training. or a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
- ✓Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
- ✓A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
