The Head of Direct Services, Southeast (SE), serves as the principal executive responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating Social Security Administration (SSA) field operations across a major geographic segment of the United States. This position provides senior-level leadership for a geographically dispersed, direct-to-consumer organization, ensuring the effective delivery of SSA programs and services through field offices.
What You'll Do
- →As the principal executive responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating Social Security Administration (SSA) field operations in the Southeastern United States, the Head of Direct Services: Provides executive leadership, administrative direction, and strategic oversight for all SSA field operations within the defined service area.
- →The incumbent ensures consistent interpretation and implementation of SSA goals, objectives, policies, and plans at the field level, and establishes operating policies and objectives aligned with national priorities.
- →Continuously evaluates field operations and contributes to the development of SSA-wide policies and long-range plans.
- →Organizes direct-service facilities and personnel to deliver the most effective, economical, and balanced service to the public, utilizing available service delivery options.
- →Champions innovative strategies to modernize field operations.
- →The incumbent identifies and implements modern solutions to enhance operational efficiency, service delivery, and customer service.
Requirements
- ✓To be considered minimally qualified for this position, candidates must have had responsible professional experience at a senior level (equivalent to the GS-15 in either the General Schedule (GS) or a comparable pay plan).
- ✓Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or National.
- ✓Subject to a 1-year supervisory probationary period (unless already completed).
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓May be subject to pre-employment and random drug tests Must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
