This position is in the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service, VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) and serves as program management and care coordination specialist for the VAPAHCS Regional Amputation Center (RAC). VAPAHCS is one of seven specialized RACs in the National Amputation System of Care. This program develops and implements a coordinated system of care for veterans with amputations throughout VISN 21 & VISN 22, regions under VAPAHCS RAC responsibility.
What You'll Do
- →Duties may include but are not limited to: Administrative Apply advanced knowledge of contemporary physical therapy within specialty area to provide clinical guidance, training or education for internal and external stakeholders.
- →Ability to serve as a consultant within the assigned program area for intra-agency and inter-agency planning and to provide service coordination to optimize program continuity, efficiency and effectiveness.
- →Ability to guide the work of a multi-disciplinary team.
- →Knowledge of and skill in management, administration and/or education methodologies.
- →This includes the ability to monitor and track data, utilize available resources effectively, evaluate program quality, and generate reports for local, VISN or VACO leadership.
- →Can guide a multi-disciplinary team per VHA mission by providing leadership in organizational planning, staffing, resource allocation, education, and patient care.
- →Develop and coordinate treatment and/or education programs within a concentrated field or specialty area, such as, but not limited to, amputee, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, student clinical education/residency programming, polytrauma/traumatic brain injury.
- →Conducts program evaluations, correspondence, liaison, and special projects; analyzes administrative processes and provides recommendations.
- →Possesses expertise in contemporary physical therapy within the amputee system of care.
- →Prepares and manages the departmental budget and contract requests.
- →Recommends and plans new or expanded PT programs including space, staffing, and equipment needs.
- →Monitors workload, clinic volume, and prepare staffing reports.
- →Develops productive relationships across administrative and clinical departments; serves multidisciplinary task forces.
- →Overseas environmental safety, equipment repair, and replacement needs.
