About the Role
The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for an Physician (Acute). The Physician (Acute) will function in Medicine Service.
What You'll Do
- →VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.

- →This role involves extensive and challenging responsibilities, including approximately 50% overnight solo coverage of a busy Emergency Department and approximately 50% patient care duties on our inpatient and post-acute wards.
- →These duties include cross-coverage and admissions on the inpatient medical wards and overseeing a high volume of patients in the post-acute, dementia, and long-term care spinal cord units.
- →Clinical responsibilities are extensive and include direct patient care, supervision of advanced practice providers, and oversight of resident physicians.
- →Additional responsibilities and shifts will be assigned according to the clinical needs of the Acute Medicine Section, demanding a high degree of flexibility and adaptability.
- →Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential to manage the fast-paced and multifaceted demands of this position.
- →Board certification preferred.
- →Candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine based on prior experience.
- →Preference will be given to those with experience in emergency department, inpatient, and post-acute care environments.
- →Work Schedule: Various tours to encompass both day and night shifts
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
