About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

What You'll Do

  • Located in the Rogue Valley, White City allows easy access to Metro-area of Medford while remaining engrossed with nature.
  • White City is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Oregon, in the Rogue Valley.
  • It is about nine miles north of Medford and 34 miles north of the California border.
  • Enjoy the scenic drives to either Crater Lake, Oregon's only National Park, and to the mountain resort Lake of the Woods.
  • Take a family-friendly hike to a waterfall or ride the only section of the Pacific Crest Trail that's open to mountain bikers.
  • The PA for Primary Care functions either as a member of a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) or a Float Practitioner whose primary areas of responsibility will involve performance of, and documentation of health care delivery for veterans according to VHA and DVAHCS PC standards within the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (SORCC) catchment area.
  • Functions or Scope of Assigned Duties include but are not limited to the following: Practices general medicine with a focus on community-based outpatient clinical care.
  • Approximately 90% of the PA's time is dedicated to developing and maintaining an interdisciplinary approach to the direct care of general medicine clinic patients.
  • Independently manages a panel of patients with complex, chronic care issues using the best available evidence and national guidelines to achieve optimal population health and effective disease management.
  • Demonstrates leadership and works collaboratively with assigned Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary teams to identify, analyze and coordinate internal and external resources to resolve care issues and meet medical and psychosocial needs of assigned panel of patients.
  • Appropriately orders diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs and health condition.
  • Appropriately prescribes pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic interventions that support the patient's ability to maintain or regain their health status.
  • Monitors and documents the effectiveness of treatment interventions, achievement of institutional quality measures and performance metrics.
  • Initiates referrals/consults to the appropriate service when indicated.

  • Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued dentification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • You may be required to serve a probationary period.
