About the Role
The Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System is seeking a Permanent, Part-Time, Staff Pulmonologist to provide a full range of care to our Veterans.
What You'll Do
- →This staff attending physician for the Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Section of the Department of Medicine will provide patient care, teach medical students and residents, conduct research, and participate in administrative activities.
- →They must also have expertise in sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease.

- →Prospective candidates must have training in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and expertise in sarcoidosis and interstitial lung disease.
- →Attending in the VA GLAHS Medical Intensive Care Unit to provide direct patient care.
- →Attending on the VA GLAHS Pulmonary Consult Service, Pulmonary Function Laboratory, and Pulmonary Outpatient clinic to provide consultative subspecialty care of patients.
- →Clinical activities may take place during VA off-tour hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- →Didactic teaching of trainees, including students and residents.
- →Clinical supervision of trainees in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, Pulmonary Consult Service.
- →Participation in administrative duties as assigned, which may include Process Improvement/Quality Assurance activities or other activities.
- →Service as a member of a standing hospital committee.
- →Availability for scheduled "on call" backup duties.
- →Creative productivity to fulfill promotion criteria for the UCLA clinical educator series, including original research, original reference contributions to Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep medicine (i.e., book chapters), leadership in medical student courses or electives, or other activities.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued dentification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
- ✓You may be required to serve a probationary period.

- ✓Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in allopathic medicine or osteopathic medicine.
