About the Role
Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
What You'll Do
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
- →The Nurse Manager of a Radiology: lnterventional Radiology, CT /MRI, Radiation Oncology and Hema Onco Outpatient Clinic is a registered professional nurse; she/he is accountable for the management, supervision and evaluation of care delivered by staff in the Radiology Service including Diagnostic, radiation and oncology.
- →The Nurse Manager is also responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of nursing standards of practice and care.
- →As a nurse leader, the Nurse Manager uses appropriate consultation with experts of each discipline he/she supervises to ensure that practice and performance issues are addressed and resolved.
- →The Nurse Manager is responsible for directing and organizing the unit-specific orientation, training and development of these staff and for directing, supervising, and evaluating their performance.
- →Further responsibility includes assuring orientation and clinical competence of these nursing staff.
- →The Nurse Manager is responsible for completing special projects and educational initiatives as assigned.
- →The Radiology Nurse Manager also provides direct patient care activities to accomplish the goals of the service.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
