The Social Worker Program Coordinator works as the Chief, Mental Health Clinic within the Mental HealthService Line (MHSL) at the Sergeant Ernest I. "Boots" Thomas VA Clinic in Tallahassee, FL. The Social Worker Program Coordinator manages all administrative and clinical aspects of the programs.
What You'll Do
- →This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
- →You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
- →Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
- →The Social Worker Program Coordinator manages the daily operations of the program, develop policies and procedures for the program operation and prepares reports and statistics for the clinic, service line, facility, VISN, and national use.
- →The Social Worker Program Coordinator utilizes funding data related to the program regarding day-to-day functioning and program evaluation.
- →Duties may include but are not limited to: Provides day to day operations management to a team of interdisciplinary professionals including psychiatrists/physicians, clinical psychologists, clinical social workers, RNs, APRNs, LMFTs, and others assigned to the program.
- →Responsible for the overall oversight of clinical services provided by staff, must assess on-going training needs, and completes competencies/performance reviews/plans efficiently and effectively in collaboration with the discipline chief(s).
- →The incumbent exercises supervisor authorities and responsibilities involved in work assignment and review as well as, the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised.
- →Consistently reviews clinical profiles to ensure appropriate appointment management process and appropriate workload credit is being achieved for the individual employee as well as, MHSL and respective disciplines.
- →Implements system redesign projects and/or participates in funded formal research, when appropriate.
- →Performs a wide range of services and provides technical assistance to State, local, and private agencies, and universities based on monitoring activities and program reviews, and the development and analysis of information..
- →Responsible for key project activities related to the planning, development, and implementation of the project component.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
