About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Staff Psychologist is assigned to the Mental Health Clinical Center, VA Maryland Health Care System (VAMHCS) which is based at the Ft.
- →Meade Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) of VAMHCS.
- →This position may need to provide psychological services at other VAMHCS sites, at the discretion of Program Manager/Supervisor however, Staff Psychologist is primarily assigned to the Primary Care-Mental Health Integration (PC-MHI) program.
- →Duties: Provides full range of psychodiagnostic and clinical health psychologist services including assessment and using the most appropriate, evidence-based interventions in providing high quality care.
- →Provides functional assessment, triage, brief intervention, education and consultative services regarding a wide range of mental health and behavioral medicine concerns, on referral from primary care providers and allied PACT members.
- →Identifies a wide range of patient care issues that may overlap between mental health and medical conditions.
- →Proficient in a wide range of screens to consult, assess, and refer to more specialized assessment and treatment programs.
- →Possesses consultative skills, time management, flexibility and willingness to be interrupted to respond to urgent/emergent Primary Care situations.
- →Performs assessment of and provide disposition to Veterans who present for assessment or provide assessment through other intake portals (e.g., Emergency Department, Urgent Care Clinic, etc.) all of which are points of entry to mental health services.
- →Performs others duties as requested or assigned.
- →Work Schedule: 8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday Compressed/Flexible: Not Available Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
