About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ELECTRICAL/COMPUTER/ELECTRONICS ENGINEER/PHYSICIST/COMPUTER SCIENTIST in the Avionics Engineering Department, Airborne ASW Battlespace Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Branch Head of the Airborne ASW Battlespace Division, responsible for managing personnel, processes, and facilities related to the research and development, systems acquisition, and product support for Airborne ASW systems.
- →You will allocate resources to meet the specific needs of program teams and of the Division, and coordinate with managers of similar technical areas in other government agencies and industry.
- →You will technically and administratively supervise a professional force of engineers, scientists, and technicians ranging in grade from junior level to senior level.
- →You will make initial program assignments to Program Teams and personnel based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of the employees.
- →You will develop funding plans for incorporation into the Division budgetary requirements for current and proposed programs, managing financial resources within the assigned budget.
- →You will serve as an expert consultant and engineering advisor to the team and higher-level offices, labs, government offices, industry, academia, and other domestic or foreign agencies in technical areas related to Airborne ASW.
- →You will maintain contact and liaison with leading technical and management personnel from other government, industry, and university laboratories to stay abreast of ongoing programs and all major pioneering work being performed.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
