Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Agriculture Safeguarding & Risk Management, located in Sterling, VA.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering the U.S.
- →This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen Homeland Security by performing law enforcement activities that enforce the laws and regulations related to the import and export of agriculture, commodities and baggage entering and/or exiting the United States.
- →Typical duties include: Collecting, evaluating, and analyzing data, information, and intelligence, applying the process of integrating, evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting information from single or multiple sources into a finished intelligence product meeting production management standards.
- →Conducting assessments of threats to national security with a focus on agricultural and biological threats for the purpose of protecting economic and agricultural interests.
- →Ensuring the availability and utilization of effective targeting systems to ascertain examination requirements in alignment with CBP and U.S.
- →Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service policy and procedures.
- →Liaising with high-ranking officials in other Federal agencies, top-level management in the department, various governing boards, committees, USDA APHIS, and partner government agency headquarters staff on program administration.
- →Ensuring that assigned programs and processes are covered by internal controls and that appropriate precautions are taken to prevent fraud, waste, and misuse of resources in accordance with the Federal Managers Integrity Act.
