FUL - Seasonal Maintenance Worker

About the Role
The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is April through July but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: June, July 2026. Please provide supporting evidence/documentation (e.g. mortgage or property deed, lease/rental agreement, utility bill, insurance policy) as proof that you are a resident.
What You'll Do
- →The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds.
- →Perform minor plumbing repairs of limited difficulty such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures.
- →Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters.
- →Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
- →Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed.
- →Receive, unload and process incoming shipments according to established procedures, and report discrepancies and damage to others responsible for such items.
- →May perform other duties such as painting equipment, masonry work, roofing, welding or assisting higher grade worker with maintenance of utility systems in the facility.
- →Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites.
- →Physical Demands: Works from ladders, scaffolds and platforms and where surfaces to be coated, or the parts of systems worked on are hard to reach that require incumbent to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- →Frequently lifts, carries and sets up parts and equipment that weight up to 50 pounds.
- →Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside where dirt, spray, and fumes are present.
- →Also required to work in inclement weather and/or wear protective equipment and clothing that are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- ✓You will also submit a photocopy of your valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
- ✓Lastly, you may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
- ✓Travel, transportation & relocation expenses will not be paid.
- ✓Relocation expenses will be the employee's responsibility.
