Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Los Angeles Field Office, located in Long Beach, California. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise in assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of human capital efforts resolving complex problems related to position management, staffing and placement, performance management, awards, and worker's compensation.
- →This position starts at a salary of $124,085.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $161,313.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →In this position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security functions by becoming a valuable member of a team of administrative professionals.
- →Typical work assignments include: Analyzing the Table of Organization and handling all staffing issues including implementing personnel actions (SF-52s) via the EL360 for a large organization.
- →Providing expert-level, written advice to management while overseeing functional areas such as: awards, position exchanges, human resource collective bargaining agreement issues, worker's compensation, performance management, pay and benefits.
- →Researching staffing policies, programs, initiatives, and recommending changes to improve human capital services provided.
- →Consulting with national headquarters staff on a wide range of administrative concepts, laws, policies, practices, and analytical methods to address technical issues or problems.
- →Analyzing, formulating, recommending, and implementing human capital projects.

Requirements
