What You'll Do

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S.
  • Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Management Directorate, Intake and Document Production and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • The responsibilities described are for the full performance level.
  • At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
  • Maintains accurate custodial records for all accountable property and Information Technology (IT) assets, conducts physical inventories, and ensures proper use and timely return of loaned assets within their area of responsibility.
  • The position oversees the full lifecycle of accountable property, including tracking assets assigned to personnel, managing property removals for repair or external use, reconciling inventory discrepancies, and submitting accountability reports.
  • The position supports administrative programs by developing, implementing, and advising on requirements, conducting briefings, preparing reports, and performing research and analysis to inform management decisions.
  • Human resource operations involve providing comprehensive HR support, including staffing, personnel actions, position management, benefits guidance, pay determinations, and performance management, while serving as liaison for multiple HR roles.
  • Facility, security, and safety management duties include serving as the point of contact for facility issues and modifications, managing security and safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with emergency and access protocols.
  • Procurement, budget, and financial management responsibilities include preparing requisitions, maintaining purchase records, monitoring financial data, and providing budget and expenditure reports to management.

  • Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S.
  • Federal or Military employee serving overseas.
  • Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a probationary period of 1 year.
  • EDUCATIONAL SUBSTITUTION: There is no educational substitution at the GS-12 grade level.
  • COMBINING QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION (at the GS-11 level/s only): If you do not qualify based on experience or education alone, you may be able to qualify based on a combination of your experience and education.
