About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Operations Support, Law Enforcement Safety and Compliance (LESC) Directorate, Asset Management Branch, located in Harpers Ferry, WV. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • In this position you will oversee comprehensive programs for law enforcement assets utilizing program management and inventory systems to plan, develop, and implement supply strategies, monitor equipment status, and ensure internal controls.
  • The work directly impacts the security, accountability, and efficiency of CBP's law enforcement asset programs.
  • This position starts at a salary of $85,447.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $111,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10).
  • Typical duties for this position: Ensuring all high-risk assets are accurately inventoried and tracked within relevant systems, managing asset transfers, shipments, and receipts in compliance with CBP policy and federal regulations and maintaining detailed records for accountability.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of critical software and database systems, including data entry, maintenance, and coordination for solutions to system operation issues, functionality, and new capability requirements.
  • Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data, troubleshooting system problems, and working with Information Technology (IT) staff to implement new features and enhancements.
  • Generating and distributing various reports (e.g., asset inventories, items transfer records, lost/stolen assets) to LESC leadership, component Headquarters, and field personnel, often with short turnaround times, utilizing reporting tools and data pulled from relevant systems.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to identify data needs and reporting requirements, ensuring that the systems provide the information necessary to support decision-making.
