About the Role
As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will serve as a project lead for comprehensive and/or complex financial management analysis. Location of position: Office of Chief Financial Office/Financial Reporting Office of Chief Financial Office provides the full suite of financial services to GSA to ensure proper management of the agency's financial resources. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.
What You'll Do
- →Serve as the project lead for comprehensive and/or complex financial management analysis, policy or procedure formulation, reviews and issues.
- →Retrieve and analyze data/information necessary for efficient and effective financial management and accounting operations.
- →Serve as a senior-level subject matter/technical expert for a variety of accounting policies and processes, methods, and practices.
- →Formulate solutions to unusual and complex accounting issues/problems.
- →Prepare briefings and special reports for management and customers.
- →Communicate effectively through written reports, speeches, whitepaper, point paper, memorandum and other pertinent documents.
- →Formulate, develop and manage accounting and financial management policies, procedures and directives.
- →Perform and document assessments of internal controls over financial reporting and information technology controls in financial systems in compliance with OMB Circular A-123, Management's Responsibility for Internal Control.
Requirements
- ✓If selected, you must meet the following conditions: Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
- ✓If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C or NonCareer SES employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the HR Office.
- ✓Failure to disclose this information could result in disciplinary action including removal from Federal Service.
- ✓Serve a one year probationary period, if required.
- ✓Undergo and pass a background investigation (Tier 2 investigation level).
- ✓Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position.
- ✓Be able to work frequent overtime (approximately 15 hours per quarter).
- ✓Note: If you are using foreign education to meet qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education.
