You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER (SECTION MANAGER) in the ENGINEERING & RESEARCH DIVISION at the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING AND EXPEDITIONARY WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC) Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 through GS-14.
What You'll Do
- →You will apply experimental theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.
- →You will ensure assigned projects remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies.
- →You will perform and execute a variety of complex engineering projects from conception to completion.
- →You will analyze data and communicate results in oral and written presentations, provide consultative and expert advisory services, and assess the impact of new technology and requirements on current projects, systems, and processes.
- →You will modify standard practices and adapt equipment or techniques to solve a variety of engineering problems.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
