The position is located in Fiscal Service at VA Northern California Health Care System. The incumbent is the principal agent cashier for the facility, which includes the outpatient clinics at Martinez, Oakland, Redding, Chico, Fairfield, Mare Island, Sacramento Outpatient Clinic at McClellan, and the Sacramento Medical Center at Mather.
What You'll Do
- →The Incumbent establishes and maintains a complex cashier function, which contributes to the effective service to our Veterans and the efficiency of Fiscal Service Operations.
- →The incumbent control's/maintains, as the central control point for the specialized monetary system utilized by the VA, including check drafts.
- →Examines, verifies, and maintains financial accounts data and classifies accounting transactions including the verification of the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data.
- →In the performance of duties, determination must be made on the acceptability of a wide variety of items and documents, the adequacy of identification material, and the authenticity of signatures.
- →The incumbent balance's all accounts daily to ensure the disbursing fund and collections are accounted for properly.
- →The records of the alternate agent cashiers are verified to account for any collections received or disbursement made.

Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
