Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Special Operations Detachment located in McAllen, TX. Additional selections may be made beyond the total number of vacancies specified using this vacancy announcement. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →Relocation Authorized Position: Due to the current funding hiatus, all relocations will be placed on hold at the time of selection.
- →As soon as the hiatus ends and funding becomes available, you will be contacted by the CBP Hiring Center to coordinate an enter on duty (EOD) date and complete the necessary relocation forms.

- →In addition, a VRP verification process has been established.

- →This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally.

- →This position starts at a salary of $129,258.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $168,040.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
- →As a Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (PAIC-SO), you will serve as a secondary law enforcement officer and be responsible for: Directing Station operations to prevent the illegal entry of noncitizens into the U.S.
- →Seeking out and apprehend terrorists, migrant smugglers, and those noncitizens who entered the U.S. illegally.
- →Developing and Implementing Station policies and guidelines within the framework of broad program objectives established at the Sector level.
